Description
Straight Cut gear set developed for the Aisin 6 Speed that is used in the RX8.
Dual Synchronizer baulk up grade for 4th speed (OEM is single). Needle roller bearing introduced to 4th speed (OEM no bearing). Retaining nut and clip on layshaft (OEM uses 1/2 clips which is the biggest problem with this type of transmission).
PAR has come up with an ideal ratio combination based on the tyre size and differential ratio that comes with this model.
Most common ratio to date is as follows,
1st 3.28
2nd 2.0
3rd 1.45
4th 1.17
5th 1.0
6th 0.8
There is also the option to incorporate 1st-4th and retain OEM 5th and 6th. This is not recommended for cars that will be aggressively launched since all the power travels through 5th speed except when in 5th.
1st-5th is good for cars that don’t need an up rated 6th speed.
