Connecting Rods
Catering for the market's demands is PAR's innovative I-beam connecting rod. Physics tells us that an I-beam will carry more weight/load
than the same size H-beam. A great example is the use of I-beam girders in the building industry, you will not find an H-beam girder
used to support a ceiling or wall.
Using innovative methods of manufacturing, PAR is in a position to offer a 14 day turnaround for custom connecting rods with a number of
different styles available to suit varying applications such as circuit racing, drag racing, street and even vintage vehicles. Connecting
rods for many popular vehicles are also stocked to enable immediate delivery.
Features:
- Bending and twisting are held to a minimum with strict attention paid to detail and finish
- Set weights matched to ± 1.5 grams with big and small ends finished to ± .001mm for immediate installation
- Bottom sized connecting rods are availabe on request to eliminate the need for closing and honing
- ARP 2000 220,000psi cap bolts for maximum strength and reliability, especially in high reving applications
- Forged blank 4340 stock is used where possible due to the superior grain structure and structure
- Full billet stock is used whenever forged stock of an appropriate size is not available
- Hardened locating cap bushes are used to prevent deformation and ensure perfect cap location to within a micron
- Steel backed small end bushes are used as they withstand higher compressive loads than softer aluminium bronze bushes
- Specially selected high impact non-ferrous aluminium bronze bush used if steel backed bushes are unavailale
- Through hardened to 33-35Rc then carbon nitrided to 60-62Rc to a depth of 0.5mm
- All connecting rods are shot peened to remove any surface witnesses and relieve tensile stresses
