July 2009 - DCL Electron Beam Welder Commissioned

After months of waiting with the EBW machine held up by the British Ministry of Defence while final checks were being made, it's finally arrived!!! Slashing the time taken for Electron Beam Welding of gears from weeks to minutes, the long awaited EBW machine was finally commissioned and started up at the end of July.

Used to weld dog rings onto gears and shift fork components, Electron Beam Welding is the only way to accurately weld these parts together with the penetration required without the heat and deformation associated with other methods such as TIG.

October 2008 - The big move is upon us

With all of the planning and logistics taken care of, early October was the start of the mad rush to pack and ship the 1,800 sq metre production facility in Minto, Sydney and load onto awaiting ships departing in the first and second weeks of November. There were many extremely late nights with the whole facility packed and shipped within a hair's breath of the looming deadlines.

Given a blank sheet to work from, the design and production teams at PAR have used the very latest in design and production technology, techniques and experience to produce a gearset of immense strength and refinement. Boasting the widest gears available to date with 4mm, 3.2mm and 2mm wider gears for 2nd, 3rd and 4th speeds respectively and the refinement of the tried and proven 450bhp 5MT gearset, the new 650bhp 5MT gearset is second to none.
